When we started the Good News clubs, we were soon made aware of many of the children’s inability to read and write. This is because they could not attend school. And those who attend school are often in classes of 70 or more children, which makes learning difficult. We know that being able to read is essential to being able to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus.

In 2024, we began to seek the Lord to provide a place to be able to teach them how to read, along with other basics such as writing and math.

Even though the focus of the learning center is to teach children who can’t read to read, it is also available to help those who can read to read better. We eventually want to provide reading programs for the parents of our children, who are often illiterate.

The location of our learning center is also home to our ministry offices, ongoing discipleship classes, learning to teach children trainings, learning important life principles and practices like managing finances, Cleanliness, knitting & sewing, cooking, among others.
