Greetings from Uganda in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

This month has been a greatly blessed month as Miss Gail Beagin from the USA helped me to do another holiday training. This was a follow-up to the previous training we did with our older children 4 months ago.

UKWELI CHILDREN SEPTEMBER UPDATE

The training took place at a nearby school where we rented a classroom for the six days. We had 40 children attending, ages 9 through 16.

This training was focused on reviewing the past teachings, engaging children in more practicums, how they can manage a group of children they are teaching plus helping them on preparing and teach a Bible lesson.

This will better equip them to better assist and teach the Good News Clubs in the communities, churches, schools and homes.

We hope all these future holiday trainings will be held in our new learning center.

Update on the Ukweli Children Learning Center

Having acquired a house for our facility, we have run into some challenges with the owner. She has not lived up to making the improvements that we agreed upon, like installing the rain gutters, razor wire on the wall fence, repairs in the bathrooms among others.

This has delayed our moving in date of October 1st. Please keep this in prayers.

We are seeking the Lord to provide two missionaries to assist this ministry. The missionaries will live on premises of the ministry premises.

Equipment Needed for the Facility

• Furnish the master bedroom for the missionaries

• Equip the bathroom

• Equip the kitchen

• Furnish the Office

• Furnish the classroom

• Supplies for the outside (outside kitchen, tent plus other improvements)

Update on the Good News Clubs

We currently have 2 Good News Clubs, one in Lusa on Saturday and another in the village here called Colombia on Sunday.

For Saturdays’ club, we are going through the life of David. And for the Sundays’ club going through teaching learning about Jesus as the God of Power and glory.

We hope to start the good news clubs in other neighborhoods and the schools we have children that are sponsored.

Scholarship Program

With the new term that has just begun, we are currently sponsoring 43 children. The average cost per child for each term is 100$.

We have another 30 children that are waiting to be sponsored.

Discipleship

We currently have 8 children that we are discipling. We meet once a week when the weather permits.

We want to start a second group of discipling of children. The learning center will be a tremendous help in accomplishing this goal as we will not be dependent on good weather.

With our missionaries, we will have many discipleship groups.

Others

• We are planning and preparing for our Christmas program at our various Good News Club sites for a date to be confirmed, in the second week of December.

• As pastor Drews’ assistant, I will be traveling with him and Pastor Bill on October 5th to 10th October to record the teachings on apologetics and pastoral epistles at the pastoral training center here.

• The pen pal program is going well, we currently have two schools participating, one in Guatemala, and the other from Mexico. If you would like your child, Sunday school children to be a part of this kindly contact us.

Children of the Month

Each month, we would like to introduce you to some of our children.

This month, we have two children:

1. Nansamba Vanessa – 12 years

2. Mukisa Brandon – 10 years

The father deserted the family several years ago. For the past year and a half, things have been very difficult for the mother to meet needs of the family.

This meant that Vanessa and Brandon could no longer attend school. The Lord, through generous donations, has enabled them to go back to school this term.

Prayer Requests

• Pray for the main learning center for things to be settled that we will move in soon and start.

• That God will provide everything needed for that

• God to provide those he would like to be there to minister

• For the disciples that they will grow in grace in knowledge and that more children will be discipled

• That the sponsored children to learn and the Lord to provide the means to send more children to school

• Attentiveness of the children during the good news clubs

• For God’s protection over our children
