Warm regards to you and your family.
The months of November and December have been extremely blessed, bearing witness to the faithfulness of our Lord.
Our Good News Clubs at both locations have been doing well since we conducted a series of lessons on Jesus’ lineage, the prophet Isaiah, and his writings on the arrival of the Messiah, all of which were closely related to our Christmas story, “Joy to the World.” Additionally, we were fortunate to have two young men, Emmanuel and Bruce, who are taking a break from school to assist Tina and Henrietta with worship and praise as well as other areas of ministry. Until January 3rd and 4th, all clubs are currently on break.
Our young disciples have been doing well, contributing to both clubs and, when given the opportunity, teaching lessons and memory scriptures. This is truly a blessing.
80% of our 45 sponsored children performed well enough to advance to the next class, except for some who struggled with reading and math, particularly those who had missed more than one or two years of school. On February 2nd, classes will resume for the next school term. We plan to add more children to this program and will soon begin teaching our children who struggle with reading and Mathematics.
Due to issues with the landlord and not moving into the facility we had previously rented, this has been delayed. In order to get our money back, our Lawyer is working on this matter. The Lady admitted what she had done during the hearing on December 16th and promised to reimburse us by January 20. If we haven’t received the money back, the court will hold the next hearing on January 20th. Even though we can’t fully trust the government bodies, we hope that justice will be served. Keep this in prayers. With all of this still going on, we are working nonstop to find a new, affordable location for our learning center, which will serve a variety of functions and other ministry programs that continue to take place under trees when the weather permits.
Our new discipleship group of 14 children started, and very blessed by their eagerness to learn. We are meeting both the new and old groups at different time schedules. We resume these sessions on the 28th of December.
Our Christmas celebration took place on Sunday, December 7th, from 1 PM until 6:30 PM!
We had our two Good News Clubs come together, and by the end of the day, we had over 450 children attend. Pastor Drew shared the Christmas story. Our 22 young disciples and about 10 adult volunteers served greatly during this outreach. Music, games, face painting, food and drinks, and gifts like backpacks (we distributed 200 backpacks), clothes, water bottles, cups, salvation story bracelets, stickers, and snacks were all part of the exciting event. Your kind donations made all of this possible. And how joyful this was for our kids. We give thanks to God! For all of this, I’ve attached a little video clip.
On Tuesday, December 9th, Pastor Drew took our 22 young disciples to the Botanical Gardens on Lake Victoria, where they played, prayed, explained what it means to be a disciple, and had some good food. We also got some letters from our pen pals in Guatemala during this time.
In other news, our website is nearing completion, and you will receive the link by January.
Finally, I would want to thank everyone who prayed for Lambert, the young boy who appeared in our October child story. In the end, the mother decided not to send him to the village. This means that he will continue to be able to attend school. The circumstances at home are still unpleasant for him, so please remember him in your prayers.
Once again, thank you so much for consistently supporting this ministry with your prayers, financial contributions, tangible gifts, and words of encouragement. You can only be richly blessed by the Lord, who sees all of this.
I wish you and your loved ones a happy Christmas and a blessed New Year.
With all the love of Christ and blessings,
Gloria
